Success Stories
Here are some of our favourite success stories and what our rescue is all about. The transformations in these animals is simply incredible and inspires us to continue giving our all for the most high needs animals. Those the rest of society has turned their back on. The ones who need behavioural support, the ones who need surgeries, have high medical bills and need gold star vet support. We do not give up on an animal, no matter the cost, no matter the time, no matter the work, we hold their paw and back them 100%. These stories show why we take this approach and why it is all worth it.
WOODY
Rescued August 2023
We saw a street cat on a public post who desperately needed help. He was struggling to survive and had a huge wound to the side of his neck. When he arrived he was highly aggressive, smelt terribly, had horrendous teeth, was FIV positive, had terrible fleas and a worm burden. He was totally defeated, broken and needed support. We did not anticipate his health journey to take as long as it did. This poor boy needed all of his teeth extracted, many rounds of antibiotics, various methods to heal his wound which would not heal, over 20 vet visits, 6 surgeries and finally a skin graft which was successful! He went from one of the most aggressive cats to the friendliest cat you could meet. Now he is living his best life with the lovely Catherine and her other lucky FIV+ cats.
GREYSON
Rescued July 2023
The first photo we saw of Greyson we weren’t even sure he was a cat. He was soaking wet, had a huge wound on his head and looked completely broken. Greyson was highly aggressive, in pain and needed a lot of rehabilitation and support to be adopted. Sometimes the hardest thing for us to mend is a let down or abused heart. Slowly, and with time, patience and love this boy became one of the friendliest cats we have rescued. He is now living his best life with the gorgeous Woody and their special mum Catherine.
BLOSSOM
Rescued January 2024
The initial photo of Blossom broke our hearts. Cats are so resilient and often go on suffering for years, masking how wounded or sick they truly are as a defence mechanism. Blossom had the worst skin cancer that had already rotted away her ear and eaten into her face. Despite the prognosis we wanted to give her every chance to live the rest of her life loved, comfortable, with a fully belly and lots of love. Blossom had surgery to remove as much of the cancer as our vet team could. She healed beautifully, showed so much gratitude through affection and now is living her best life with her mum Robyn.
PERCY
Rescued December 2023
This gorgeous boy broke our hearts. He had been sitting in an overcrowded pound for months. Stressed, aggressive and with cancer on his ears. Everyone had turned away and we knew we had to help him. When Percy came into care he was the most grateful, appreciative and loving cat - true proof that sometimes it is not the cat, often it is the environment. Please do not judge the scared or aggressive, all too often they are the ones with the most love to give. Percy needed the cancer on his ears removed, a dental and a lot of TLC while in care. He is now living his best life with the wonderful Ebonny.
MIRACLE
Rescued April 2024
This gorgeous boy truly is the definition of a miracle. Miracle was found alone in the street, as a tiny vulnerable kitten he would not have made it. This was in regional NSW, there were no vets open, no emergency vets, it was us supporting the foster carer 6 hours away. He had a huge abscess that burst and we truly nearly lost him due to this injury, he was lifeless, needing to be monitored 24/7 and critically cared for, without a vet. As soon as the vet opened he was at the front door ready - being so tiny and what he was up against he sure is a Miracle! The definition of a fighter. This cutie is still waiting for a home but is being loved rotten by his beautiful foster carer Belle.
MANGO
Rescued August 2023
This poor boy was rescued from the streets in a regional town. He was highly aggressive, had FIV, an eye infection and old scar tissue, cat flu, ongoing gut issues and major skin infections. It was becoming increasingly difficult to support him and standing across from the vet both feeling completely defeated, quality of life was discussed. We decided to give him one last shot with a different steroid and it worked! This boy flourished and became the beautiful little lion he always was inside. He is now a friendly little soul who is a picture of health and living his best life with his beautiful mum Olivia.
PEACHES & BABS
Rescued August 2023
These two ladies came to us from a 120+ hoarding situation. Both girls were up against so much. Both FIV+ but that was the least of their worries. Peaches eyes rotated, she has vision issues and we were fearful she had neurological damage. After months of medication, tests and support it turns out little Peaches was most likely just blind. Babs had ongoing cat flu, was in and out of vets with congestion and really struggled. We took her to the emergency vet and she continued to decline. Eventually she was diagnosed with FIP - a cruel, unforgiving and deathly disease. We decided to go all in for this little kitten and against all odds she pulled through! She had something to prove and boy did she! Both girls formed such a beautiful bond and we knew they could not be separated. It was going to take a special soul to commit to two little cats with such a colourful rescue story. Along came Kendall, their total hero and best possible home. They are now living their best lives, the ones they always deserved.
OSCAR
Rescued March 2024
Little Oscar came to us by chance. We were saving cats from a property when the volunteer spotted him. A little old soul, in a terrible state, just struggling to exist. He had the worst flea infestation we have ever seen. Severe dermatitis, matts that were full of dirt and faeces, horrendous teeth, he was blind and at 16 years old would have suffered in that yard his entire life. Our vet did not really know where to start and neither did we. It was heartbreaking, confronting, devastating and infuriating all at the same time. Oscar was given medication, good food and all the love he could have hoped for. Sadly, he has major heart disease, most likely prostate cancer and is one of our palliative care cases. We will love him hard, support him and show him what his life should have always been like. Oscar is with the dedicated, compassionate and loving Tina, where he will live out his days in luxury and comfort.
